SPAIN...THE COUNTRY OF TAPAS!
Most Spaniards and the day's work with an apperativo, enjoyed at home or at a local bar with friends or colleagues. This unique Spanish way of sharpening the appetite traditionally consists of a glass of chilled fine or manzanilla cherry, accompanied by an array of little snacks known as tapas. The word "tapas" originated from the practice of using a piece of bread as a lid (tapa) to keep flies off the wine. Tapas, which are eaten throughout the evening and also before the midday meal, are endlessly varied. Here at Alba, we are proud to say we make our own Spanish ham and sausages. Try these home made specialties plus a selection of hot and cold tapas, which will delight your taste buds! Viso recommended! Buen Provecho!
